Immediate Support & Safe Recovery

When a survivor reaches out, we treat them with compassion, safety, and care. The Survivor Support and Outreach Department is your first point of contact and continuous companion on the journey from crisis to recovery. We ensure that no one faces trauma alone by providing holistic, confidential support that addresses immediate needs and fosters long-term healing.

Our Core Services

1. 🚨 Emergency Helpline & Response

  • Immediate Crisis Support: Trained responders offer a compassionate ear, safety planning, and guidance.

  • Language Access: Support available in English, Tonga, Bemba, Nyanja, and other local languages.

  • Emergency Dispatch: Coordination of emergency transport or safe escort when needed.

2. 🏠 Referral to Safe Haven & Temporary Shelter

  • Referral to immediate Protection:, secure accommodation for survivors and their children facing imminent danger.

  • Basic Necessities: Food, hygiene kits, clothing, and a secure environment.

  • Dignified Transition: Support in planning next steps towards longer-term safety.

3. 🩺 Holistic Medical & Psychosocial Care

  • Medical Advocacy & Referrals: We facilitate and accompany survivors to partner health facilities for forensic examinations, emergency contraception, HIV/STI prophylaxis, and treatment.

  • Trauma-Informed Counselling: Individual and group counselling sessions with licensed psychosocial counsellors to address emotional and psychological wounds.

  • Wellness Follow-ups: Regular check-ins to support ongoing mental and emotional wellbeing.

4. 💼 Economic Empowerment & Reintegration (Service Not Yet Available)

  • Survivor Empowerment Fund: Seed grants and business startup kits to foster financial independence.

  • Skills Training: Vocational training and workshops in partnership with local institutions.

  • Reintegration Support: Practical assistance with housing, education, and community re-entry to rebuild lives with dignity.

5. 📞 Proactive Follow-up & Community Outreach

  • Personalized Case Management: A dedicated support officer helps navigate each step of recovery.

  • Community-Based Check-ins: Our staff and trained Youth Watch Committee volunteers conduct regular visits to ensure sustained support and prevent survivors from being overlooked.

  • Logistical Aid Fund: Covers transport to appointments, communication costs (airtime), and co-payments for essential private healthcare when public services are unavailable.

How to Access Our Services

  1. Call Our Helpline at any time. A responder will assess your situation and guide you.

  2. Walk-In Referrals are accepted at our office during working hours (Plot 15659, Esther Lungu Road, Kamwala South, Lusaka).

  3. Referral from a Partner (Police VSU, Hospital, another NGO). We coordinate directly with them.

  4. Community Referral through a trusted Youth Watch Committee member in your area.

  5. Fill in the form provided on the "Get Help" page.

All services are confidential, free of charge, and survivor-centered. You will be believed, respected, and supported at your own pace.
